The Housatonic Museum of Art (HMA) stands out as a fully-fledged museum — a Bert Chernow Gallery — not just a few rooms designated for art on a community college campus. HMA received a prestigious grant that enabled them to host Art For All, a three-day event that brought colleges from across the nation to HMA, highlighting the importance of bringing museums to community colleges everywhere.
Our mission was to build awareness and engagement that would result in participation in the event. We developed a timeline for releasing press materials, crafted press releases for optimal impact, and designed eye-catching graphics that could stand alone as effective promotional materials. The promotion unfolded in three distinct phases: first informing the public about the event; then highlighting its core mission of advocating for museums on community college campuses nationwide; and finally building excitement and encouraging attendance as the date approached. In the end, Art For All proved to be a resounding success.

The Housatonic Museum of Art had the privilege of sitting down with Melissa in the Morning to discuss the museum’s offerings, current initiatives, and exciting plans for the future. We were tasked with editing highlights from the conversation for social media, as well as creating a graphic to complement and enhance the HMA brand.
Anytime you get to work with a color like ‘Electric Green,’ it’s a fun day. Sticking to the color scheme of HMA’s website, we paired this vibrant green with a rich oil brown to create a bold, artistic, and visually appealing graphic — perfectly complementing an insightful interview.
Clear communication. Stronger communities. Meaningful results.
